A Candlelight Christmas Features Joseph Holmes, Rachele Schmiege,
and The New England Tenors

Joseph Holmes joins celebrated soprano Rachele Schmiege and The New England Tenors for SRO’s
signature mix of classical, religious, seasonal, and popular Christmas masterpieces.

In addition to the new time of 3pm, this year’s Candlelight Christmas concert offers
a complementary spread of holiday goodies at intermission.

With performances throughout New England in its seven years, The New England Tenors features artistic director
and founder John Middleton-Cox, Irish tenor Damien Corcoran, and operatic divo Stefan Barner.
Soprano Rachele Schmiege’s “illuminating, velvet tone” is in demand in Boston and throughout the United States.
Tenor Joseph Holmes continues to amaze audiences locally, nationally, and internationally.

Instrumentalists including NET ‘fourth voice’, violinist Peter Stickel, pianist Wayne Ward, and percussionist Pat Hanafin. Mr. Ward is a professor at Berklee College of Music and the long-time accompanist of the Longwood Opera.

Repertoire includes traditional carols, such as Lo, How a Rose and Coventry Carol,
arias from Handel’s Messiah, the Lord’s Prayer and Gesu Bambino,
contemporary hits of the season, Believe, You Raise Me Up, All is Well and The Prayer,
as well as a sing-along. A special arrangement of The Little Drummer Boy highlights the talents of Pat Hanafin
before the evening ends with a spectacular arrangement of Let There Be Peace on Earth.

Join us for a Christmas celebration for all ages and appetites!
